“The important thing is this:
To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become.”
-Charles DuBois
When we came up with the name of the film and musical album, X: The Human Condition, and our band, X: THC, we had no idea what we were in for. But everything that occurred, even the name of this project, turned out to be for an important reason.
Originally this was intended to be a multimedia project that could inspire people to realize that the experience of feeling alone and feeling connected are both part of the human condition… and that what we focus on is what becomes our reality… but “the human condition” is much more than that.
And through the making of the project, I was to learn the deeper meaning of that.
As the main characters in my film were to each send out their own kind of “message in a bottle” out to the world, it somehow magically led to me sending out my own message of persevering determination to never give up.
I learned many years ago that what you put out into the world is what you get back. Direct negative energy out to the world, and you get back negativity directed back at you. Put out positive vibes and positive vibes come back to you.
Karma can be a bitch, but it can also be something that can change your life.
So I create this story of “the human condition.” I consider this to be my mission in life…to inspire people. I’m passionate about it. I want to do this one good thing in my life.
So the universe says to me, “Oh yeah? You think what you’ve created in your mind is “the human condition”?
I’ll show you the human condition!”
BAM! You lose your vision to eye disease.
BAM! You also have kidney disease
BAM! You’re also at risk for heart disease that took both your parents.
BAM! You foolishly paid for this enormous project completely out of your pocket and now, as you’re near completion, you’re out of money, and about to lose your business.
BAM! You lose all hope and consider suicide as the only way out, because life has become unbearable.
BOOM! A miracle happens.
And now, looking back, you can now see how everything was meant to happen, almost like puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly to tell the story. A series of strange twists of fate that made truth stranger than fiction.
The human condition? Please come with me on this journey, as we go back in time to where this incredible life-changing experience all began. As you read through it, please notice how everything happens as if it we are traveling on a winding road, leading to its unexpected destination…
I hope my story will inspire you and make a difference to the way you look at things in your life.
